About the Founder
For the past 25 years, Ms. Zagon has facilitated Art & Creativity for Healing workshops. Using her methods of art for healing, she has helped thousands of children and adults process stress, illness, and grief in hospitals and nonprofit community organizations throughout Southern California and the U.S. The Zagon method of Art & Creativity for Healing was initially developed in New York, in 1987 as an art workshop to help busy Wall Street executives deal with stress.
Laurie’s work in color and light is well known not only through her paintings but also through published works. One of those is the book It’s Never Too Late to Have A Happy Childhood, Inspirations for Inner Healing by Claudia Black (Ballantine Books, 1989) which features 34 full color reproductions spanning 10 years of her paintings. She is also the co-author of the book The Power of Color: Creating Healthy Interior Spaces (John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1995, and has recently released her latest book; Art for Healing: Painting Your Heart Out (AuthorHouse, 2008)
