FLOC Expands The National Office and OC Team!
2013 marks exciting growth for FLOC as the “National Office” expands with Tiffany Martin as the new National Fund Developer. FLOC-OC day-to-day operations will be handled by FLOC’s new OC Director, Malisa Braselle, and Shaina Flesser will take over as FLOC’s new Volunteer Coordinator. Geoffrey Varga will step aside as FLOC’s MC to take on a FLOC Board position, while Melissa Salas jumps in as FLOC’s new “Face Of FLOC” MC! All exciting stuff!!
Below are descriptions of the expanding Team and responsibilities:
Tiffany Martin, National Fund Developer
Tiffany has worked with FLOC since 2012 and has been responsible for building FLOC’s young professional volunteer base and nonprofit partnerships. As the new National Development Director, Tiffany will be in charge of finding funding for the “big picture” and tackling grants, corporate partnerships and nonprofit alliances to advance FLOC’s growth and sustainability. ~ Tiffany has been involved in nonprofit work since high school and with two undergraduate degrees in Communications and International Studies and an MBA (to be completed this May) from Chapman University, she brings the National Office a much needed “philanthropic business mind!”
Malisa Braselle, FLOC-OC Director
Malisa has been a FLOC Member since 2011 and as the new FLOC-OC Director she will be overseeing all chapter day-to-day operations including events, trainings, volunteer opportunities and membership development. Malisa will also be the motivating force behind FLOC’s first “Fall Formal Gala” and will be expanding FLOC’s local funding, development and awareness. ~ Malisa brings to the Director position a long passion for nonprofit work and “real-world” experience in strategic thinking, marketing and fundraising. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Marketing from the University of New Mexico.
Shaina Flesser, Volunteer Coordinator
Shaina is recently new to FLOC, but certainly not new to volunteering. Shaina has been a consistent volunteer with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for years and discovered FLOC through FLOC’s partnership with CF. As FLOC’s new Volunteer Coordinator, Shaina will be the right-hand person to Malisa and will oversee all FLOC volunteer experiences, volunteer recruitment and nonprofit partnerships. She’s a pro at organizing and motivating others which are perfect talents for the position. ~ Currently, Shaina works at the University of California Irvine as a Direct Marketing Specialist and she hold an undergraduate degree from UCI in Political Science and Government.
Melissa Salas, “Face of FLOC” Master of Ceremonies
Melissa has been associated with FLOC since 2010 around her involvement with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation half-marathon fundraiser. She has an enormous heart for service work and has been dedicated to a lifestyle of philanthropy for years. For those who know Melissa, her personality is bright, energetic and welcoming; perfect skills for the FLOC-MC position! Filling Geoffrey Varga’s big shoes, Melissa will be the “Face of FLOC” for 2013 and will officiate all Awareness Events. ~ Melissa is by far FLOC’s most experienced MC with an entire career in front of the camera as Buy.com’s online personality. Who knows, maybe “FLOC-TV” is in Melissa’s future!
