FAQ

WHAT IS FLOC’S Nonprofit 501c3 Tax NUMBER?

Our EIN number is 27-3460415

HOW DOES FLOC SPEND ITS MEMBERSHIP FEES AND SPONSORSHIP DOLLARS?

Like any organization, FLOC has a number of expenses associated with running its operation. From office expenses to marketing materials, business development to event operating costs, membership materials to assisting nonprofits, and a small stipend goes to help pay the FLOC staff for their time and commitment to the organization which helps increase FLOC’s sustainability. As a US 501c3 nonprofit, FLOC is required by law to report every dollar spent to its Board and to the U.S. government. As a FLOC member you will receive an annual report outlining every dollar that FLOC spends and how it has been used to serve the community. FLOC’s Board of Directors oversee the FLOC budget and represent all members and the community in its diligence to make sure that FLOC stays transparent and accountable.

IS MY FLOC MEMBERSHIP GOOD IN OTHER FLOC CHAPTERS?

Yes!  A FLOC Membership is good anywhere a FLOC Chapter is operating.

WHAT ARE “AWARENESS EVENTS?”

Each month we introduce FLOC Members to a new nonprofit that is in need of greater awareness and volunteers.  The events are at least two hours long and feature one or two speakers who talk for ten minutes in the middle of the evening.  These events are held at restaurants and bars across Orange County and are ideal for social and professional networking.

WHAT TYPES OF “LEADERSHIP TRAININGS” DO YOU OFFER?

FLOC offers four main leadership programs throughout the course of the year that involve the following topics: volunteering, becoming a committee member, being an outstanding board member and creating a philanthropic lifestyle. The trainings are held by leadership professionals and take place at a centrally located venue.

HOW DOES A NONPROFIT BECOME A FLOC PARTNER?

The ongoing challenge in the independent sector is to continually find new and energized supporters who will both volunteer and donate to your cause. FLOC understands this, which is why FLOC partners with local nonprofits to create awareness events and service opportunities that best engage and inspire young professionals. There are two different Nonprofit Membership: Basic & Team.  Basic is a free partnership and involves an Awareness Event and one volunteer opportunity.  Team Partnerships are fee associated and involve ongoing advertising and promotion of events.  Details and registration for FLOC’s Nonprofit Partners can be found on FLOC’s website here

ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS TO MEMBER (I.E. AGE, FINANCIAL STATUS, CREED, SPECIAL APPROVAL, ETC…)

FLOC is an “open” organization, meaning anyone can apply and be a member.  We want as many people engaged in the community as possible.  However, FLOC’s primary demographic is young professionals and the entire mission/vision of FLOC is designed to engage young professionals in their environment.  We don’t like to give an age range to young professionals, so if you consider yourself a young professional then congrats ~ you are our target demographic!
