FLOC Sponsors CASA and Provides Volunteer Support!
This past week FLOC was involved in back-to-back events supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), both as a sponsor for “Betting by the Bay” and as volunteer support for CASA’s annual “Back to School Picnic.” Both events proved to be huge successes and FLOC was thrilled to be a part of them.
22 FLOC members attended “Betting by the Bay” and showed up dressed to the nines in 1920’s attire. The evening involved casino gambling, cigar smoking, a silent auction, a live auction and lots of dancing! FLOC supported the event by giving a significant dollar sponsorship to help cover the general costs. FLOC members further contributed through the purchase of auction items and general donations. In total over $50,000 dollars were raised to assist the organization in its work to advocate for abused and neglected children.
Another 15 FLOC members volunteered at CASA’s “Back to School Picnic” this past weekend. Special thank you to FLOC member Kahlee Shaff and CASA staff/FLOCer Kim Burrell who helped coordinate FLOCers to assist in the picnic set-up, games and take down! The event was a huge success and over 300 children were treated to a fun day in the park.
