The Power of Two, is a transformative film inspired by the memoir written by Southern California native identical twins, Anabel & Isabel Stenzel (Univ of Missouri Press, 2007).
The Power of Two documentary film will premiere in Los Angeles on August 19-25, 2011 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood as part of DocuWeeks, the prestigious Academy Award®-qualifying documentary showcase presented by the International Documentary Association.
Directed by Academy Award nominated producer Marc Smolowitz, The Power Of Two offers an intimate portrayal of the bond between half-Japanese identical twins, Anabel & Isabel Stenzel , their lifelong battle with the genetic lung disease cystic fibrosis, survival through miraculous double lung transplants, and improbable emergence as authors, athletes and global advocates for organ donation.
Featuring expert interviews, archival footage and deeply personal testimony from the twins and others whose lives have been impacted by chronic illness and organ transplantation from the U.S. and Japan, the film provides unprecedented insight into the personal and societal aspects of this modern medical miracle saving hundreds of thousands of lives worldwide.

After a one week run at the Docuweeks showcase, the film will screen in September 2011 at several legendary movie palaces — the Castro Theatre in San Francisco as part of a Bay Area Premiere Gala, the Avalon Theatre in Washington, D.C. as part of a D.C. Premiere Gala –, the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia on September 13 , 2011 (In collaboration with UNOS), and at the Nomad Theatre in Boulder, CO on Sept. 3, 2011 as part of the Life and Death Matters Film Festival.
